Adults are humans or animals that have reached their full development. Adults are a social concept as well as a legal concept in our world. As opposed to a "non-adult" or "minor" legally adult has attained the age of majority and is therefore considered to be independent, self-sufficient, and responsible. They may also be regarded as an "major". The age for achieving legal adulthood is 18, but the definition can vary based on laws, countries and the level of development in psychological terms.

Adulthood is the time in human life when a person has reached full maturation in both physical and mental development. Many people believe that the age of adulthood begins at age 20 or older. The typical middle-age starts at 40 or so years old. It is then it will be about 60. The three main stages of adulthood are early adulthood (from the mid 30s until late 60s) mid-adulthood between the mid-30s through late-60s, and finally adulthood, (mid-60s up to death). As we enter early adulthood, our body has reached the fullest physical maturation. However, our body's size and weight could grow. In young adulthood the physical capabilities of our bodies are at their best, including muscle strength, reaction time as well as sensory capabilities, the functioning of our heart.
